![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Cando Plains A massive expanse that covers most of the continent, the Cando Plains are where most official zoid battles take place. It's all open area, covered in grass. There's not cover, so hiding is pretty much impossible unless you have a stealth system. That being said, Attack Cats love this area. Travelers beware. These zoids have even been known to interrupt the official battles, attacking the combatants! Whatever the reason for being here, everyone needs to be on guard against the Attack Cats. They can be very territorial.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Vronar Mountains A long chain of mountains situated in the heart of the continent Haenu. Many of the mountains in this chain are smaller though, at least as far as mountains go. They are still very tall overall. The taller mountains in this range have year-round snow at their peaks, while the smaller ones are covered with lush pine forests almost completely. Only the peaks of these mountains remain barren.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Siscera Valley A huge valley found in the Vronar Mountains. It's a lush valley with a large lake in its center that is surrounded by forest. There's still space for zoids to roam, so be wary of wild zoids that might attack you. The trees that make up the forest are mostly oak, but the odd elm is found as well. The lake is full of beautifully clear water, clean enough for humans to drink. The forest doesn't immediately start where the lake ends either; there is a small open area of grass for picnics and general relaxing.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Nurala River A long river that snakes through the Vronar mountains. It's about five miles wide, so crossing it can be a chore. Some small water zoids can maneuver it, but as the river at its deepest doesn't even reach 200 feet larger water zoids are effectively beached.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Morz Valley Only those who are very experienced and have strong zoids venture here, and even then travel in groups. Few wild zoids roam the land, but the plains are plenty perilous even without them. The ground isn't always as solid as it appears to be, and many are lost to these sinkholes each year. Besides this, most of the valley is covered in strong electromagnetic emissions that messes up navigation and radar, making it easy to get lost. Those who must pass through this area prefer to simply fly over it and avoid most of the perils.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Rhashair Base Back in the days of war this was one of many large bases where supplies and zoids were kept. Little remains from that grand time, but the base is still a prime area for junk collectors and zoids warriors. Wild zoids have made the base their home, and it is still underground, where it was built. The base was underground so that it was hidden from plain sight. Now, the fact that it's underground simply adds to the overall "feel" of the place and with the lighting systems all out vision isn't at its premium.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Chacange Ruins One of Drayshen's many attractions. These ruins have many ancient zoids and organoids buried in them, but are very dangerous. The ruins themselves are unstable and may collapse at any given moment. Furthermore, wild zoids get trapped in the ruins, and being confined in them so long drives the zoids mad. Between the zoids, possibility of cave-ins, and the likelihood of getting lost, few dare to enter.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Artranse Desert Drayshen is a huge continent, and almost a quarter of it is taken up by this desert. The expanse is easy to get lost in if you don't have some sort of compass or navigation system. If you don't get lost there's still the extreme heat. The only relief in the entire is a small oasis in its center. Few plants grow amongst the sand and rocks dot the land. Guysacks and other desert zoids love this area.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Tranara Completely in contrast with Artranse, Tranara is a lush rainforest. It is located in the northernmost region of Drayshen. The weather is very warm and humid here, and rain is a common occurrence. The plants leave little room to breath, let alone move around in a zoid and form an almost completely solid canopy. This canopy pretty much blocks all sunlight, so the ground is dark as night.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Icelands of Navrok The southern third of Draynesh gets pretty cold in winter and doesn't warm up that much in summer, earning the land the nickname of "Icelands". The land was called Navrok long before people began calling it the Icelands, and still has that name today, though few use it. Winters here are a traveler's nightmare, having way too much snow, howling winds, and at least one blizzard. Snow blankets the ground, masking any ice beneath. No one ever knows of the ice before it's too late.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Yashun Plains This massive expanse of plains runs right through the center of the continent, cutting it into northern and southern thirds. The final third is, of course, the plains in between. The Artranse Desert is in fact situated in the center of these plains. The plains themselves are much like Earth's Sahara plains. They are quite dry and have little plant life. The plants that do exist are tough, as they have to survive in nutrient-poor soil and get very little water outside the rainy season.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Tili Wastelands The name says it all. Not much in the way of plant or animal life exists here, yet many wild zoids make this place their home. The harsh living conditions have toughened them up, as have border disputes. Plainly put, there are more zoids here than room permits and they are constantly battling one another over territory. As such the zoids are in great shape, though the wastelands bear the scars from these countless battles.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Volcanas Peak Among the smaller mounds in the Rowl Mountains there is one peak that stands above the others. Its name is Volcanas, and for a good reason. Most of the mountains in the Rowl chain are just that: mountains. Volcanas, however, is a very active volcano. There are a few years in between eruptions, but when eruptions come they easily cause as much chaos and damage as a Genosaurer. When lying quietly between eruptions it's a great tourist attraction, being the largest peak in the Rowl Mounains and for the forest that grows around it in the magma-enriched soil. Yes, the lava spewed out during eruptions becomes very rich soil and lush forest grows from it, only to be destroyed and rebuilt in the next eruption. Until then it's a wonderful vacation spot.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Bytea Canyon Maurend Valley is split into two uneven pieces by a long, deep canyon: Bytea. The canyon is as wide as it is deep, some 1,000 yards give or take. Pretty much the only zoids able to cross it have to be able to climb down one side and up the other, fly, or tunnel underground. The wild zoids in this area have grown used to living in a pit and are quite proficient at battling in it. They will take on any challenger at any time, reflecting their species' pride and valor. As for the canyon itself...well, it's a canyon. Other than some rocks and the zoids, there's nothing to see.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Fellyard A very sad place to visit, the Fellyard is nothing more or less than a gigantic graveyard for all of Leogra's zoids. It was built so that the honorable feline zoids could always be remembered. Once a place of glory, it is now more of a junkyard. In fact, many that operate beneath the law come here to salvage parts and weapons. Thankfully it is not used anymore for fallen zoids, but for those who were placed here...well, their fate is a sad one.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Maurend Valley The infamous "red" valley. It is called as much in reference to its bloody history. Long ago a horrendous war was aged between members of the Liger Clan and members of the Tiger Clan, each determined to prove that their type of zoid was superior to the other. Today many Ligers and Tigers roam the area, either abandoned from the war or runaways. All are vicious and dangerous.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Rowl Mountains A short chain of mountains that is home to some of the more maneuverable zoids on the continent. Some good examples are the rare Liger Zeros and Bladeligers. Rare as these zoids are though, those who enter the mountains almost never spot them. Catching them is even more unlikely, which is why they fetch a handsome price in the Shadow Trades. The mountains themselves aren't much to see, as they are closer to hills than mountains. It's still a nice place to visit and train in, just not on the popular list.

| The Continent Sharaz |
![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Civilized World of Sharaz (5 sub-boards) A lofty title. The fact is, most of Sharaz's towns and cities are quite large, and there are no villages. It's a popular place to visit and live, which is why there are many large towns and cities. Each has its own sub-board here.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Wolbrack Fortress A remnant from some war or another in the past. This fortress was impenetrable in the past, and eventually became ruined. Lately it's come back to life thanks to the dedicated efforts of Sharaz's citizens. It is a sanctuary now for any stray zoids or weary travelers that need a safe place to stay. The fort is easily defended from the area's wild zoids, making it very safe and is always kept well stocked with food and medical supplies.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Marshlands of Rersa Rersa was once a lush forest. It was a natural park, and many tourists came for a vacation. However, as time went on the land began to change. The climate grew very rainy for a few decades, with five years in there that were the worst. The rains have let up, but unfortunately all the plant life died since the rain clouds starved them of sunlight. The ground is nothing but muck that sucks at the feet of humans and zoids alike. Unlucky ones have fallen into sinkholes and most don't make it back out. Rersa is normally thick with fog and humidity and receives intermittent rainfall year-round. Few zoids venture here, and it is rumored that there are some kind of monsters in the sinkholes; that's why hardly anyone gets out of them.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Azshra Mines One of Sharaz's main sources of income. The mines are rich in all sorts metal ores and precious stones, allowing Sharaz to shine in the jewelry trade while succeeding nicely with zoids and equipment. The mines are also home to wild zoids, so warriors are always welcome. The miners are willing to pay those that stop and help them, so taking the time to help out might prove to be worth it.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Tishoar Lake A beautiful lake, one of the largest on Zi. One of the reasons it is so large is that it's Legora's rivers' last stop before they run into the ocean. The waters shine when the sun is out, deceptively beautiful and inviting. The lake is far from peaceful, being the home to many powerful water zoids. When rain comes the water level rises, and thus the area of danger is greater as well. The rains also occasionally wash in more powerful zoids like Warsharks and Hammerheads from the sea, making the lake waters especially treacherous.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Zilei Ruins The ruined town of Zilei. In ancient times it was a magnificent town, known for being technologically advanced in the areas of zoids and organoids! These days it's mainly piles of rubble and broken buildings. A team of archaeologists has begun to excavate all of the ruins to study them, hoping to learn from the old culture. The project is going well, but wild zoids that live in the ruins and surrounding area often attack the research and digging teams. They've hired a powerful group of warriors to deal with these zoids. Problem is, the warriors can't always tell the difference between wild zoids and piloted ones.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Whishara Woods Dim by day and pitch black by night. A sea of trees is the first impression many get of Whishara. Within those trees lurk many wild zoids. Most of them are canine zoids like Command Wolves and Shadow Foxes. The trees are fairly close together, leaving just enough space for a zoid to squeeze through. More maneuverable zoids find it easy to move among the trees, but larger and less maneuverable zoids have trouble, constanly scraping against and running into the trees.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Kashei Valley In the northeastern region of Quashri lies a valley. The region is very hot and dry though, making the valley more of a desert than anything else. The ground is hard packed and dusty with little growing out of it other than tough weeds. Other than that its main feature is that there are many different kinds of rocks of varying sizes and shapes scattered about. The rocks are nice to look at and provide cover for firing at an enemy while dodging their bullets.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Cliffs of Demezra Tall cliffs that loom over a huge plain, Demezra is the perfect place for high altitude battles. The cliffs themselves are home only to those zoids that can fly, such as Pteras and Redlers. These zoids rule the skies and are in their element among the cliffs. Battling them is extremely difficult unless using an aerial zoid, but the cliffs are where all the flying zoids of Quashri gather, leaving little other choice for those seeking the wings of aerial zoids.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Sizash Plains Cliffs usually mean a sudden difference in the height of the land, and Demezra is no different. The cliffs loom over an expanse of tall grass known as the Sizash Plains. These plains have nothing but the tall grass for cover, and the grass is only tall enough to hide low zoids like Molga, organoids, and humans. Most other zoids are too tall to be hidden by the grass. The wide open space makes the plains excellent for high speed zoid battles and is also good for launching long distance attacks, since visibility is so great. The plains are home to many wild zoids, despite the lack of cover. All the same they somehow are not seen unless they want to be seen. That mystery likely won't ever be solved.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Gresa Lake A gigantic lake near the west coast of Quashri. It's so large that only a flying or water zoid can see all of it in less than a week. Even a Lightning Saix could spend a month circumnavigating the lake. The waters are clear enough, but far from pure. Many water zoids live and battle in its depths, and while they don't make the lake horribly polluted, the water still must be filtered before it can be used for drinking. The wild water zoids in the lake are fair game for anyone to catch and tame.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Tikamu Shores Ah, the sound of waves as they lap gently against the beach. Seagulls call to one another as they circle in search for food. There isn't much of civilization here, save for the port. It acts as the main base for incoming and outgoing vessels and zoids. Tourist attractions and zoid battles are further inland, but the beach itself is a nice place to relax. There are wild zoids that roam the ocean, but generally they prefer to stay in the deeper waters where the threat of being beached is minimal. If they do accidentally beach themselves, they're helpless.
| 0 | 0 | |
![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Olephran Forest Most of Luay is covered by this rainforest. In fact, the shores are the only places where the forest doesn't grow. The ground is too sandy and salty there for plant growth. Otherwise all of Luay would be one huge rainforest. While the climate out on the beaches is pleasant, beneath the trees of the forest it is very humid. The wetness makes the air thick and hard to breathe, but thankfully the same foliage that holds in the water insulates against excessive heat and cold. The high humidity can do terrible things to clothes and skin, making this forest unpopular for anything other than the occasional zoid battle.

| The Island Nahiko |
![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Places of Interest (4 sub-boards) A handful of towns exist on the island, though none of them are anywhere near the Ilfrasci Mountains. Island natives stay away from the volcanoes, knowing that they could erupt at any time.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | The Reywen Tunnels About 89% of Nahiko has these tunnels running through it. Though they are rightfully called the Reywen Tunnels, they are actually inactive lava tubes, formed by volcanoes long dead. Tunneling zoids like Guysacks and Stealth Vipers are right at home in these tunnels, adding to the peril of traveling through them. The lave tubes are closed off from the Ilfrasci's tubes by relatively thin walls-walls that could crumble during an eruption. The Reywen Tunnels are an excellent way to get around, as the land above them is too rough to cross easily. The Reywens are also Nahiko's main safe feature. The island's overall feature is the Iflrasci chain, but the Reywens are the second and are far safer in most people's eyes.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Frashi Valley A small valley nestled between the ocean and the Ilfrasci Mountains. Because the Ilfrascis are volcanoes, the soil of the valley is rich and the plants grow thick and lush. The valley could be a paradise, but the threat of an eruption always looms over the wondrous land. Visitors to the island are warned, for while Frashi is not forbidden or anything, tourists must be careful of the possibility of an eruption.
| 0 | 0 | |
![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Ilfrasco Mountains In the northwestern corner of Nahiko a mountain chain known as the Ilfrasco Mountains, forms a border around the area. The mountains, however, are not mountains at all. They are volcanoes. Most have been long dormant, but there is the odd one that will erupt once in a great while. The chain is at least two million years old though, and only in the last few centuries became so quiet. Many believe the volcanoes are not truly dormant, just lying quiet for now and that someday a cataclysmic eruption will come. It's all rumors though. Still, the millennia of activity has made them very tall, and hard to cross without a flying zoid. The little area these volcanoes encompass is the Frashi Valley.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Liya Park Volcanoes have shaped Nahiko and its culture. There is a small valley, Liya, that sits just beyond the Iflrasci Mountains' danger zone. The valley is full of geysers, hot springs, and many geographical wonders that come from the volcanoes. Now the valley has become a reserve of sorts, a park where tourists can visit and learn about the world Nahikans live in. Spas have been set up near the springs, and hotels near the geysers since many love to watch their awe-inspiring display. Zoid battles are prohibited here and to insure that the rule is kept all zoids are tagged upon entry. Visitors are expected to come for a vacation or just some leisure time, not battles.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Mechros Docks It takes a fair bit of manpower to run and take care of ports. Being a little more technologically advanced than its two island neighbors, Penolai has come very close to solving the problem. Much of the port's functions are mechanized and easy to operate and care for. There are also easy access-ways that the workers can use to get quickly to and from the port. This essentially means that a village/town/city does not have to be built within or near the port, and the port still have ample workers around constantly.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Izaroni Plateau The center of Penolai is raised a few hundred feet above its beaches in the form of a plateau. The island as a whole isn't that large, so the plateau isn't terribly big either. It is a good sized battlefield for zoids combat, but battlers must be wary of where it ends. Only a flying zoid could survive falling off the cliffs that are the plateau's borders. A few wild zoids roam the plateau, those that are able to climb and tunnel and those that can fly. Others mostly avoid the area, not wanting to risk being dashed against the beach below.

![[ ]](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/Stormliger/staroff.gif) | Valitru Bay Valitru...ah what a sad tale is behind it. Valitru was a mighty city many centuries ago. Its people were very technologically advanced, yet lived in harmony with nature. However, about three-hundred and seventy-two years ago a terrible storm blew over Penolai. It raged for many weeks with the aid of calm winds and warm waters. When the storm finally cleared, Valitru was completely underwater. Its inhabitants had all either fled or drowned. Now Valitru is a bay, and beneath the waters of the bay lie the ruins of Valitru.
